About The Role An opportunity has become available to join our Team on G40. The department is divided into two areas, comprising Elective Day Surgery/Admissions and Short Stay Unit caring for Pre-operative and Post-operative patients. You will be expected to work in both areas once your preceptorship period is completed. Additional training will be arranged for specific needs dependant on surgical speciality.
We provide a service for all Surgical specialities, i.e Orthopaedic, ENT, Oral Maxillofacial, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Burns, Breast, General Surgery, Urology etc.
Main duties A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering and managing direct patient/client/service user care, ensuring the provision of safe, effective, and compassionate healthcare which is both high quality and evidence based. RNs conduct comprehensive assessments of patients/client/service users, administer medication, monitor health status, and provide education to patient’s client/service users and their families regarding treatment plans. They collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans. Additionally, RNs provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students, fostering a supportive and professional clinical environment.

Essential Person Specification Requirements
- Registered nurse with BSc Honours Nursing or Diploma HE Nursing.
- Registered with the NMC or on an NMC approved BSc/MSc nursing programme due to register with the NMC within 12 months.
- Previous experience working in the health care setting.
- Up to date knowledge of current nursing issues and practice.
- Ability to plan, assess, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Ability to prioritise tasks.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate clearly (verbally and written).
- Enthusiastic.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- Willingness to gain knowledge and develop professionally.
