Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based at Apollo Main Hospital in Chennai. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care, including assessing patient conditions, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with procedures as per physician orders and hospital protocols. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, preparing and updating care plans, and coordinating with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure safe and effective treatment. The nurse will educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care, while promoting infection control and safety standards. The role also involves participating in ward rounds, responding to emergencies, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior staff or nursing students as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and nursing council registration; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, basic life support (BLS), and routine nursing procedures.
- Knowledge of hospital protocols, infection prevention and control practices, and patient safety standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
- Ability to manage multiple patients, prioritize tasks, and remain calm in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Comfort using electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer applications for documentation and reporting.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays as required in an acute care setting.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care environment is preferred; specialty experience (e.g., ICU, ER, medical-surgical) is an advantage.
