We work with growing U.S. companies that expect high\-quality accounting, strong judgment, and professionals who can work independently. ***This role requires those that can work USA EST Time Zone hours 9AM ET \- 6PM ET*** We work with growing and sophisticated US businesses that expect high\-quality accounting, clear judgment, and professionals who can think independently. **Role Overview** We are hiring a **QBO Onboarding \& Cleanup Specialist** to lead the accounting side of client onboarding, with a strong focus on **QuickBooks Online setup, diagnostics, cleanup, and GAAP alignment** . You will take over new or messy QBO files, diagnose issues, rebuild or validate balances, and bring the books to ACE CPAs’ **GAAP and reporting standards** before transitioning clients into steady\-state monthly accounting. This is a **hands\-on, problem\-solving role** for someone comfortable working independently and resolving complex accounting issues inside QuickBooks Online. **What You’ll Be Doing** **QBO Onboarding \& Diagnostic Review** * Take ownership of new client **QuickBooks Online** files during onboarding * Review trial balances, GL detail, and historical financials * Identify errors, unsupported balances, and inconsistencies * Reverse\-engineer balances when records are incomplete or poorly maintained **GAAP Cleanup \& Balance Sheet Rebuild** * Prepare GAAP\-level cleanup entries (accruals, deferrals, reclasses, corrections) * Rebuild and validate key balance sheet schedules: * Cash and bank reconciliations * AR/AP tie\-outs * Accruals and prepaids * Payroll liabilities * Fixed assets and depreciation * Loans, equity, and intercompany balances * Ensure all balances are fully supported and audit\-ready **QBO Setup, Optimization \& Handover** * Review and standardize the **QuickBooks Online chart of accounts, mappings, and workflows** * Clean up and restructure GL accounts where needed * Align client files with ACE CPAs’ internal templates and documentation standards * Identify process gaps before monthly close begins * Prepare clear onboarding summaries (issues found, adjustments made, open risks) * Ensure a clean handoff to the ongoing accounting team **Who This Role Is For** * Accountants with **strong hands\-on QuickBooks Online experience** * Professionals who enjoy **cleanup, diagnostics, and fixing messy books** * Candidates with audit or strong reporting backgrounds who want ownership of complex work **Required Qualifications** * **ACCA, CA, or CMA qualified** (or finalist) * Strong background in **audit, financial reporting, or advanced accounting** * Solid understanding of **accrual accounting and U.S. GAAP** * Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues independently * Ability to work **U.S. EST hours** **Technical Skills (Non\-Negotiable)** **QuickBooks Online (Primary Tool)** * GL review and diagnostics * Cleanup and historical adjustments * Chart of accounts restructuring * Troubleshooting balance discrepancies * Financial report validation **Advanced Excel** * Pivot tables * XLOOKUP / INDEX\-MATCH * SUMIFS * Multi\-tab reconciliation workbooks * Structured balance sheet schedules **Communication** * Excellent written and spoken English * Ability to: * Write clear accounting explanations * Document cleanup logic and assumptions * Communicate confidently with internal teams and, when needed, clients **Why This Role Stands Out** * Heavy, real\-world **QuickBooks Online cleanup and restructuring work** * Exposure to complex U.S. GAAP accounting issues * High ownership during the most critical client phase * Clear path into senior technical or leadership roles
