Role Description The Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Hope, ON. This role oversees construction projects from planning through completion, including defining scope, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements. The Project Manager coordinates field teams, trades, and suppliers, monitors progress, and resolves issues to keep projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include managing procurement and expediting of materials, organizing inspections, and ensuring work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role also involves preparing project documentation, reporting to leadership and clients, and fostering effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Project coordination and leadership skills, including Project Management and the ability to oversee multiple concurrent construction activities.
- Experience in Expeditor and Expediting functions to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Knowledge of Inspection processes and quality control to verify compliance with plans, codes, and safety standards.
- Logistics Management capabilities to plan site operations, deliveries, and resource allocation efficiently.
- Previous experience in construction project management specialising in civil projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, contracts, and applicable building codes.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., scheduling, document control, and cost tracking tools).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to work on-site, collaborate with field crews, and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites as required.
