Project Engineer

Isherwood is looking for an Intermediate or Senior Engineer to join our Toronto office to help deliver strong technical projects, support great clients, and be part of a collaborative, people\-first culture.  This position focuses on providing high\-value engineering design to clients while coordinating closely with internal project managers, CAD specialists, field staff, and accounting colleagues. You will have autonomy in your role, but you will always have the support of the team around you.  You are practical, organized, and comfortable taking ownership. You communicate clearly, build trust easily, and understand when to involve others. You enjoy problem solving, working with motivated people, and producing quality work. You understand the balance of delighting our clients while maintaining our corporate health.  Responsibilities include leading the design of a variety of Geostructural projects by preparing and reviewing design calculations, drawings, and reports while optimizing designs based on site constraints and the Observational Method. This role supports project delivery by assisting internal project managers and by coordinating internally and with external consultants to maintain design intent and client expectations. It also includes conducting site visits, providing technical guidance during construction, resolving field issues, supporting monitoring and observational methods, and participating in client meetings to clearly communicate technical concepts, manage risk, and build strong working relationships.  **Must have qualifications**   * Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Canada * Experience working on Geostructural projects within the Canadian construction * Minimum ten years of engineering experience. Geostructural experience is an asset * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle for site visits and in\-person client meetings We would love someone who is adaptable, service\-oriented, accountable, self\-aware, and excited about working in a growing boutique engineering firm.  Since 1972, Isherwood has grown to a team of more than sixty professionals including engineers, EITs, project managers, a geologist, field technicians, CAD specialists, and business and safety staff.
