**Location:** Remote Project Site – Northern British Columbia **Start Date:** May 2026 **Role Type:** Full Time **Work Schedule:** 14 days on / 14 days off rotation (camp accommodation and travel provided) **Compensation:** $110,000 – $135,000 annually **Company Overview:** Lemare Construction is a privately held heavy civil construction company based in Port McNeill, British Columbia. The company maintains strong partnerships with First Nations communities and is committed to safety, environmental stewardship, and long\-term sustainable development. **Job Description:** Lemare Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support remote heavy civil construction projects in Northern British Columbia. This is a field\-based role working closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to support construction execution, quantity tracking, project controls, and the identification and management of change conditions on large\-scale earthworks and road construction projects. The Project Engineer will act as a key technical resource on site and as the Site Superintendent’s right hand (2IC), supporting field execution, coordinating technical requirements, and maintaining project momentum. The role also works closely with project Engineer of Record (EOR), ensuring timely responses to RFI’s and supporting implementation of design in the field. This role is suited to individuals with strong field experience who can work independently in a fast\-paced remote construction environment. **Tasks and Key Responsibilities:** ·        Act as the primary point of contact for technical matters encountered during construction ·        Work closely with Superintendent to support daily execution, sequencing, and short\-term planning ·        Own quantity tracking and verification for all project activities ·        Manage survey crews to confirm layout, progress, and as\-built information  ·        Quality turnover ·        Identify, document, and lead the development of change orders and extra work claims ·        Support project controls including production tracking, cost awareness, and progress reporting  ·        Review drawings and specifications and ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements  ·        Work closely with Engineers of Record (EOR) to obtain clarifications and support field execution ·        Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality documentation  ·        Assist with and prepare change orders, RFIs, and project correspondence  ·        Support the Superintendent with planning, sequencing, and technical problem solving  ·        Work with the Project Coordinator to ensure accurate reporting and documentation  ·        Liaise with client representatives, inspectors, and subcontractors  **Education and Experience:** ·        Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field  ·        5–10 years experience in heavy civil construction, mining, forestry or large earthworks projects  ·        Experience working on remote construction projects is strongly preferred  ·        Experience with resource road construction, drilling and blasting, and earthworks is an asset  **Skills:** ·        Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods and field operations ·        Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications  ·        Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills  ·        Strong communication skills in a field environment  ·        Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast\-paced setting  ·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)  ·        Experience with quantity tracking and construction reporting  **Working Conditions** ·        Remote field\-based position in Northern British Columbia ·        14 days on / 14 days off rotation ·        Camp accommodation and meals provided ·        Travel to and from site provided ·        Work conducted in rugged terrain, variable weather, and a fast\-paced construction environment This role requires working in a fast paced remote construction setting with changing priorities, and physically demanding conditions.
