Project Engineer

**Project Engineer (Junior / Intermediate) \| Heavy Civil \& Marine** **Alva Construction Limited – Antigonish, Nova Scotia** We are looking for a Junior/Intermediate Project Engineer. You will be working with our senior project team. In this full time role, you will assist our team of engineers, surveyors and field supervisors with heavy civil and marine operations including roads, bridges, wharves and mine projects. **Your Role \& Responsibilities** You will support the planning, execution, and delivery of heavy civil engineering projects, contributing technical expertise while maintaining hands\-on project involvement. **Key responsibilities include:** * Supporting project estimation, cost tracking, and monthly progress invoicing. * Ensuring adherence to project design standards and contract specifications. * Support staff in the preparation of quantity calculations and design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D * Acting as a liaison between field staff and senior project managers to ensure positive project outcomes. * Supporting contract administration, technical reviews, and bid document evaluations. **Qualifications \& Experience** * University degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to excel in a fast\-paced, team\-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities. * Willingness to work both in the field and in an office environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing. * Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, B2W Estimate, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. * Proven problem\-solving abilities. * Previous construction background or Civil 3D design experience is considered an asset. **What Alva Offers** * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. * Access to leading\-edge survey, CAD software, and technology. * Eligibility for company RRSP program. * Opportunities for career growth and professional development. * Exposure to a diverse range of local and regional projects. **Our Story** Alva Construction Limited was founded in 1925 as Colin R.
