Job Description
Project Engineer
We’re looking for a Project Engineer with 8–12 years of midstream experience to support a mix of facilities and pipeline work. This role blends early scoping with hands‑on technical project engineering as work moves toward execution.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience working with EPC partners, and the ability to work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and internal stakeholders to define scope, assess options, and keep projects aligned as engineering progresses.
Key Responsibilities
- Support early scoping for pipeline and facility projects, helping clarify objectives, constraints, and technical requirements.
- Develop and compare options, provide initial cost/schedule input, and outline what’s required to move work forward.
- Provide technical support on facilities work such as debottlenecking, small modifications, tie‑ins, and constructability considerations.
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with project intent and operational needs.
- Work with EPC partners, respond to technical questions, and maintain alignment as engineering advances.
- Identify risks, gaps, and issues early and communicate them clearly to PMs and stakeholders.
- Support the transition from scoping into engineering and from engineering into construction.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and external partners.
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience in midstream pipelines and/or facilities.
- P.Eng designation required.
- Strong EPC exposure with experience taking projects from engineering through construction.
- Background in facilities debottlenecking, small mods, or similar scopes is an asset.
- Experience in early scoping or front‑end project definition (even if not formally FEL).
- Comfortable working in ambiguous early‑stage environments and driving clarity.
- Strong communication skills and confidence to challenge assumptions when needed.
