Job Overview Join our Occupational Health team as an Occupational Health Clinic Nurse and help support the health, wellbeing and safety of our workforce.

looking to develop a specialist career in Occupational Health within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team. You will gain valuable experience across health screening, vaccination programmes, health surveillance, occupational exposure management and workplace health promotion, whilst contributing to the delivery of a high-quality Occupational Health service.

This post is

primarily based at Wexham Park Hospital

, where you will support face-to-face Occupational Health clinics. As our service continues to develop, there will also be opportunities to support virtual appointments through our evolving hybrid service model. Occasional travel to Frimley Park Hospital, Heatherwood Hospital and other Trust sites will be required to support immunisation programmes, health surveillance and wider Occupational Health service delivery.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside experienced Occupational Health clinicians, you will support the delivery of a wide range of workforce health services, including:

• Undertaking pre-placement and new starter health screening.
• Supporting health surveillance programmes in line with national guidance.
• Delivering vaccination and immunisation clinics across the Trust.
• Managing and following up occupational exposures, including sharps injuries and blood-borne virus incidents, in accordance with Trust protocols.
• Supporting workplace health promotion and staff wellbeing initiatives.
• Assisting with infection prevention and workforce health protection programmes.
• Supporting both face-to-face and virtual Occupational Health clinics.
• Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential electronic clinical records.
• Participating in audit, quality improvement and service development projects.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Occupational Health team to provide an efficient, professional and responsive service.

Person specification

Experience Essential criteria

• Experience of delivering patient care as a registered nurse.
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience of care planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Competent in using electronic clinical record systems and Microsoft 365 applications.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of supporting health surveillance programmes.
• Experience delivering vaccination programmes.
• Previous experience within Occupational Health, Primary Care, Community Nursing, Infection Prevention or a similar clinical environment.
• Experience using Occupational Health information systems such as OPAS, Cority or similar
• Experience of using Microsoft Teams or other digital platforms for virtual meetings.

Skills \& Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Understanding of health promotion and preventative healthcare.
• Ability to undertake clinical health assessments within agreed protocols
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex clinical information clearly, sensitively and professionally to employees, managers and other stakeholders.
• Able to accurately record and manage clinical information electronically.
• Demonstrates a high standard of information governance, confidentiality and data security

Desirable criteria

• Basic understanding of audit and quality improvement methodology.

Qualifications Essential criteria

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration
• Competent in venepuncture / phlebotomy
