ABOUT THE ROLE
You will join the backend engineering team responsible for building and maintaining the APIs, services, and integrations that power Digibanc™ across MENA and APAC. As a Mid-Level .NET Developer, you will work on meaningful features end-to-end — from database design to API contract — and collaborate closely with front-end, mobile, and QA teams to deliver robust, banking-grade software.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using .NET 8 (ASP.NET Core)
- Build and optimize data access layers using Entity Framework Core and raw SQL against relational databases
- Integrate with third-party financial services including payment gateways, core banking systems, and KYC providers
- Write clean, testable code with appropriate unit and integration test coverage
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical grooming sessions
- Debug production issues, analyze logs, and implement lasting fixes
- Maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards
- Follow secure coding practices aligned to OWASP and internal security guidelines
REQUIRED SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE
Experience
- 2–4 years of professional backend development experience
- Minimum 1.5 years hands-on experience with .NET 8 or .NET 6/7 in production
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams
Technical
- .NET 8 (ASP.NET Core Web API) — required
- C# proficiency including async/await, LINQ, generics, and dependency injection
- Entity Framework Core — code-first migrations, query optimization, and relationships
- SQL Server or PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, and stored procedures
- RESTful API design principles — versioning, pagination, error handling, and status codes
- Authentication and authorization — JWT, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control
- Familiarity with message queues — RabbitMQ or Azure Service Bus
- Git version control — branching strategies, PRs, and code review workflow
- Basic Docker knowledge for containerized local development and deployment
- CI/CD awareness — experience working within GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps pipelines
Nice to Have
- Exposure to fintech, digital banking, or payments domain
- Experience with Redis for caching and session management
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (App Services, Key Vault, Blob Storage)
- Understanding of event-driven architecture and the outbox pattern
- Experience consuming or building Open Banking / ISO 20022 compliant APIs
