Job Description
Material Inspector (Roads \& Infrastructure)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepares inspection reports, test reports, and site records in accordance with project quality procedures.
- Performs civil and structural material tests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregate gradation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compressive strength tests, and concrete coring, in coordination with the project laboratory and QA/QC procedures.
- Performs general inspection of civil and structural works executed by the contractor and subcontractors to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Receives Material Inspection Requests (MIR) from the contractor, inspects civil and structural materials delivered to site, verifies quantities and technical compliance with approved specifications and material submittals, and signs off MIRs as per project procedures.
- Prepares and completes the necessary documentation prior to inspections and processes all records following completion of inspections.
- Maintains, monitors, and follows up on complete records concerning material inspections, test results, and execution of works.
- Ensures that project quality control procedures are implemented in construction supervision activities and monitors their effectiveness for continual improvement.
- Ensures relevant site progress and quality information is communicated regularly to the project team.
- Perform all other duties that may be requested by team leadership
- Coordinates inspection and documentation activities to support successful handover of the project, including as‑built records and quality dossiers.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in roads and infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) and experience in preparing inspection reports and documentation..
- Ability to handle the physical aspects of required field and site inspection work.
- Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with HSE standards.
