Job Description
Z47 is looking to add a Manager / Senior Manager to the Human Capital team. This is an individual contributor role for someone who is excited by the future of technology and by the challenge of helping category\-defining companies build exceptional teams early. The role is best suited for someone who combines strong execution in tech hiring with real curiosity about what is emerging across AI, deep tech, and frontier technology. You will work closely with founders and internal investment teams on some of the most important hiring mandates across our portfolio. This is not just a search execution role. It is a role for someone who wants to develop judgment on talent, understand where technology is headed, and influence how strong teams get built. The ideal person is AI\-native, plugged into talent and technology trends, sharp in assessing technical talent, and motivated by the idea of being a long\-term thought partner to founders as they scale. **What you will do** * Partner closely with founders and leadership teams across the portfolio on key technology and product hiring mandates * Lead end\-to\-end search execution across roles, from problem definition and market mapping to candidate closure * Build conviction on technical talent across emerging areas including AI, frontier tech, applied research, platform, infra, and deep\-tech ecosystems * Develop high\-quality talent maps and founder\-ready market insights that go beyond candidate lists * Influence hiring strategy, role design, and org\-building decisions through thoughtful, practical advice * Build and nurture long\-term relationships with high\-calibre operators, builders, and leaders across India and global tech ecosystems * Work with internal investment teams to stay close to portfolio priorities and identify talent themes early * Track shifts in technology and talent markets, especially across AI and US\-linked hiring ecosystems, and translate them into actionable search insight * Partner with external search firms, internal talent teams, and other ecosystem stakeholders where relevant * Help strengthen the Human Capital team’s understanding of technical talent, frontier ecosystems, and evolving hiring playbooks What we are looking for **Experience** * 3–5 years of experience in recruiting / talent acquisition, with meaningful experience hiring for technical roles * Strong exposure to startup hiring, ideally across early\-stage and scaling companies * Experience hiring into AI, data, platform, infra, deep\-tech, developer, or frontier\-tech environments is strongly preferred * Some exposure to US hiring, global talent pools, or founder teams building for the US market would be valuable * Track record of independently driving complex searches and operating with high ownership Capability * Strong understanding of technical roles and the ability to engage credibly on quality, fit, and market context * Sharp search execution skills: sourcing, candidate development, stakeholder management, calibration, and closure * Ability to convert ambiguous founder asks into clear hiring hypotheses and structured search plans * Strong market mapping and research capability; able to spot patterns and trends before they become obvious * Good judgment on talent and the ability to distinguish signal from polish * Ability to operate both as an executor and as a sounding board to founders **Style and mindset** * AI\-native and genuinely excited by how technology is changing products, companies, and work * Trend\-first and curious; someone who naturally keeps up with what is happening across technology, startups, talent, and the broader ecosystem * High agency, pace, and self\-drive * Strong communication and influencing ability; able to engage founders with clarity and credibility * Relationship\-oriented, but grounded in substance rather than surface networking * Ambitious, learning\-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to grow into a trusted talent partner to founders * Enjoys working in a small, high\-trust, high\-expectation team environment **What success looks like in this role** * You build strong trust with founders and become someone they want to involve early in important hiring decisions * You execute searches with rigor and pace, while also improving the quality of talent judgment around the table * You develop differentiated access to strong technical talent and emerging ecosystems * You bring insight, not just process — helping founders think better about talent, role design, and team building * You raise the team’s ability to understand and engage with AI, frontier\-tech, and global technical hiring landscapes Why this role is distinctive This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of talent, technology, and company\-building.
