Manager Specialized Accounting & Reporting Standards

**Job Description:** **Accounting Standards \& Policy Implementation** Lead the interpretation and application of IFRSs, IASs, and ICAP/SBP/SECP accounting and disclosure requirements and guidelines. Develop, update, and maintain the Bank’s Accounting and Financial Reporting Policy Manual. Provide technical accounting guidance to finance teams and business units on complex transactions (e.g., financial instruments, leases, employee benefits, deferred tax etc.). Assess the impact of new and revised accounting standards on the Bank’s financial statements and prepare implementation plans. **Financial Reporting \& Disclosures** Ensure compliance with IFRS\-based financial reporting, regulatory returns, and disclosure requirements. Support the preparation and review of monthly, annual and quarterly financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory formats. Coordinate with external auditors and regulators (e.g., SBP, SECP) for audits, reviews, and clarifications. Ensure accuracy and completeness of note disclosures, particularly for complex areas such as ECL, fair value measurement, and segment reporting. **Specialized Accounting Areas** Manage specialized accounting treatments related to: Financial Instruments (IFRS 9\) Leases (IFRS 16\) Revenue Recognition (IFRS 15\) Fair Value Measurement (IFRS 13\) Consolidation (IFRS 10, IFRS 12\) Oversee accurate accounting for provisions, impairments, deferred taxation, and employee benefits. Provide advisory support on structured transactions, M\&A accounting, and investment valuations. Support strategic projects (EIR and LIC implementation etc.) with technical accounting input. **Capacity Building and Automation** Conduct training sessions for finance teams on emerging accounting standards and regulatory updates. Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in financial reporting. Collaborate with IT and process owners to digitalize financial reporting workflows, including standardization of templates, data validation, and reconciliation tools. Introduce analytical dashboards and data visualization tools to improve monitoring of accounting and reporting KPIs. **Job Specification:** 3\-5 years’ experience in financial reporting, accounting policy, or audit roles. Experience in banking, financial services, or Big 4 audit firms preferred. Chartered Accountant (CA / ACCA / CPA) or equivalent professional qualification. Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce will be an advantage. **Knowledge / Skills:** Strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and local regulatory frameworks (SBP/SECP). Excellent analytical, technical, and interpretive skills in accounting. Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (Oracle), and financial reporting automation tools. Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement innovative solutions.
