Job Description
**Job Summary**
* Monitor the implementation of the ELA curriculum and reading program to ensure fidelity
* Assist teacher in the planning of instruction and intervention aligned with the Tennessee Academic State Standards for ELA
* Support teachers and staff in the use of evidence\-based instructional strategies, educational technology, and approaches designed to improve literacy skills
* Model the use of evidence\-based strategies for Tier I instruction and provide supportive feedback to teachers on their delivery of high quality ELA instruction to students
* Train and support classroom teachers in the administration and use of literacy assessments and data management programs
* Assist with scheduling and monitoring assessments (I\-Ready, EasyCBM, TCAP, etc.)
* Guide teachers to collect, analyze, and utilize assessment data to develop differentiated instructional plans
* Facilitate frequent meetings or conferences with staff devoted to explaining samples of student work and assessment data aimed at helping teachers use the information to provide more focus instruction based on student needs
* Support and monitor the school's implementation of response to instruction and intervention (RtI2\) by facilitating communications with school personnel and families, conducting fidelity checks, managing student data and leading meetings
* Work collaboratively with teachers to develop instructional strategies and intervention programs for Tier II and III students
* Provide training and support to teachers and staff in delivering explicit and systematic Tier II and III intervention matched to students' needs
* Plan and deliver ongoing professional development differentiated to teacher's needs
* Support family involvement initiatives
* Attend professional development opportunities to stay abreast of current research aimed at a better understanding of literacy, pedagogy, and instructional coaching
**Additional Responsibilities**
* Maintain open lines of communication with administrators, supervisors, and other instructional coaches
* Adhere to all District, State, and Federal policies and procedures
* Perform other duties as assigned by their administrator and supervisor
**Required Skills**
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Unquestioned integrity and interpersonal skills (Communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration)
* Deep knowledge of reading, writing, and literacy development
* Strong presentation and facilitation skills
* Knowledge and experience in assessment, analyzing data, and using the results to modify curricula
