- Legal Counsel – Fashion Industry – Montreal (Hybrid)**
Our client is seeking a business-oriented Legal Counsel to join its legal team on a one-year contract basis. While it is a one-year contract, the hire is still entitled to 5+ weeks of paid vacation.
Based in Montreal (3 days/week onsite), this role will support Canadian and U.S. operations on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters, including contracts, intellectual property, privacy, consumer protection, product compliance, and supply chain initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pragmatic lawyer who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders and providing practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal department.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadline management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including procurement, licensing, marketing, technology, intellectual property, and supply chain contracts.
- Provide legal and compliance guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while supporting business objectives.
- Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legal and business teams on strategic initiatives and day-to-day matters.
