Job Description
**Job Summary:** Act as in\-house dispute resolution counsel for pre\-litigation strategy, notices, litigation, arbitration, consumer matters, regulatory proceedings, enforcement actions, settlements, and related advisory. The role requires close coordination with business, operations, customer support, human resources, finance, compliance, real estate, and external counsels to drive timely, practical, and commercially aligned outcomes. **Key Responsibilities:** ● Manage end\-to\-end disputes across civil, commercial, consumer, criminal, labour, real estate, recovery, and regulatory matters, including strategy, documentation, internal coordination, and follow\-through. ● Draft, review, and finalise legal notices, replies, demand and recovery letters, cease and desist communications, complaints, written statements, affidavits, applications, petitions, appeals, and settlement documents. ● Work with and manage external counsels across litigation, arbitration, mediation, conciliation, and other proceedings, including briefing, pleadings review, hearing preparation, and progress monitoring. ● Coordinate with internal teams and external counsels for appearances and actions before courts, tribunals, consumer commissions, police, investigative and enforcement authorities, quasi\-judicial forums, and other government or regulatory bodies. ● Advise internal stakeholders on dispute prevention, escalation handling, documentation standards, evidence creation and preservation, and customer, vendor, landlord, franchisee, employee, and operational issues with legal exposure. ● Support high\-risk complaints and contentious matters, including franchisee, landlord and property disputes, cheque bounce and recovery matters, employee\-related issues, frauds, and contractual breaches. ● Maintain efficient dispute processes, including intake, case tracking, hearing calendars, evidence collation, status reporting, repository management, exposure assessment, settlement status, and closure of matters. ● Conduct legal research on applicable laws, case law, and procedural or regulatory developments, and provide practical dispute\-related advice to the business. ● Drive resolution strategies, including negotiation and settlement, balancing legal risk, precedent value, business continuity, and reputational considerations. ● Coordinate with finance and business teams on provisioning inputs, recovery and enforcement steps, payment disputes, and implementation of settlement terms or court / tribunal orders. ● Support management reporting on material matters, dispute trends, financial exposure, root causes, and preventive actions. ● Support such other contentious and advisory matters as may be assigned from time to time. Candidate Profile: ● Strong grounding in dispute resolution, procedural law, evidence, pleadings, and case strategy. ● Ability to independently handle matters while partnering closely with business teams on sensitive or high\-stakes disputes. ● Strong drafting, research, analytical, stakeholder management, and external counsel management skills. ● Comfortable working in a fast\-paced, business\-facing in\-house environment. **Preferred Qualification/ Experience** : ● LL.B. from a recognised university ● 8\-10 years of post\-qualification experience in dispute resolution / litigation ● Strong in\-house and/or law firm experience in consumer, retail, real estate, operational, or commercial disputes
