We are looking to hire a
Lawyer – Rental Disputes
who will be responsible for managing rental dispute cases, recovering outstanding debts, representing the organization before relevant authorities, and ensuring the organization maintains a strong legal position across all legal proceedings for our client based in Dubai – which is one of the largest companies in the region.
This position is a contract role with an initial duration of
12 months and is renewable.
We are looking for a passionate Lawyer – Rental Disputes about dispute resolution, debt recovery, and legal representation within the real estate sector. You should also have experience in rental dispute litigation, court representation, legal drafting, debt recovery, and dealing with government authorities within the UAE.
Key responsibilities:
Represent the organization before Rental Disputes Center (RDC), courts, police stations, public prosecution, and other governmental authorities as an authorized attorney.
Submit rental dispute and debt recovery cases to RDC within prescribed timelines.
Meet, negotiate, and communicate directly with defaulting tenants to resolve disputes before and after legal proceedings.
Prepare, review, and submit legal memoranda, legal notices, settlement agreements, and supporting legal documentation.
Assess and strengthen the organization's legal position by ensuring all required legal amendments, supporting documents, and financial claims are properly documented.
Attend RDC hearings and provide regular updates on case progress and legal developments.
Draft legal defense memoranda and support complex litigation matters from a legal perspective.
Monitor case developments and ensure compliance with RDC timelines and procedural requirements.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Leasing, Property Management, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to facilitate legal actions.
Liaise with external entities including RDC, DLD, DED, CID, Police Stations, and Public Prosecution authorities.
Manage settlement negotiations and attend settlement meetings where required.
Follow up on deposited amounts, cheques, and judgment execution procedures.
Conduct reviews of bad debt accounts and active execution files to identify cases requiring legal action.
Handle legacy debt recovery cases and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
Support bounced cheque recovery processes and resolve complex collection cases.
Provide legal advice to internal departments and stakeholders on tenancy disputes and related matters.
Review settlement proposals and assess legal implications before approval.
Assist in preparing timely and accurate legal and departmental reports for management.
Knowledge, skills \& experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar legal role, preferably within a large real estate organization, with 2 years of experience within the Middle East.
Strong knowledge of UAE laws, regulations, and government procedures.
Proven experience handling rental disputes, debt recovery, tenancy matters, and litigation processes.
Experience dealing with RDC, DLD, courts, police authorities, and other governmental entities.
Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
Strong networking and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage sensitive legal matters effectively.
Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Availability:
Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or a maximum 30 days after accepting the offer.
