Job Description

Role Summary

The Data Privacy Lawyer will support the organization’s

Data Privacy Office

in ensuring compliance with applicable

global and local data protection laws

. The role focuses on

privacy risk management, regulatory compliance support, and legal advisory services

across business and technology projects. The role is suited for a junior legal professional with experience in data protection, regulatory compliance, and technology-related legal advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support privacy risk

Identification, assessment, and tracking.

  • Maintain

Privacy Risk Register

and support

Privacy by Design/Default

implementation

  • Support

Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)

and data inventories

  • Monitor and assess changes in global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and equivalent laws)
  • Draft, review, and update privacy policies, notices, and legal guidance
  • Support

Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)

and related privacy rights requests

  • Provide legal input for

Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs)

  • Support privacy advisory for business and IT projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
  • 2–3 years’ experience in legal counsel/junior lawyer role
  • Experience in data protection, privacy law, compliance, or technology law
  • Familiarity with

GDPR

and comparable privacy frameworks

  • Experience drafting legal documents and compliance materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with

DPIAs / PIAs

  • Exposure to vendor contracts and data sharing agreements
  • Experience in regulatory audits or compliance reviews
  • Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E) is an advantage

Additional Requirements

  • Bilingual (Arabic \& English) is an advantage
