Job Description
**About Jobsly:**
Jobsly is an AI\-native recruiting platform built for small and growing companies. No dashboards, no click\-heavy workflows. Employers manage their entire hiring pipeline through conversation with an AI recruiting agent that handles job descriptions, screening, scoring, scheduling, and candidate communication.
Most hiring tools were built for large HR teams with dedicated recruiters. The reality is that most companies don't have that. A founder, an office manager, or a team lead ends up doing hiring on top of everything else. We built the tool that does the hiring work for them so they can get back to running their business.
**The Role:**
We need a junior engineer who wants to build, not maintain. You'll work across the full stack of an AI\-powered product that real companies rely on daily. This is a small team, which means you'll own features end to end from your first month.
**What you'll actually do:**
\- Build features across the full hiring pipeline: AI screening, candidate scoring, interview scheduling, automated communications
\- Work directly with LLM integrations (Claude API) to improve conversational AI flows
\- Write Python (Flask) on the backend, JavaScript/React on the frontend
\- Design and build PostgreSQL schemas for flexible, multi\-tenant data
\- Deploy to production regularly. We ship fast and iterate based on real user feedback
\- Contribute to PDF generation, digital signatures, cloud storage (R2/S3\), and PWA functionality
\- Work closely with small business customers to understand what they actually need from hiring software
**What we're looking for:**
\- 0\-2 years of experience. Recent grads welcome
\- Strong Python fundamentals. Flask experience is a plus
\- Some frontend experience (React, HTML/CSS/JS). Doesn't need to be deep
\- You've worked with APIs before, ideally REST. Bonus if you've touched any AI/LLM APIs
\- Comfortable with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
\- You figure things out. Small teams don't have the luxury of waiting for specs. You read the code, ask smart questions, and build
\- Interest in startups, small business, or the hiring problem. You'll care more about the work if you understand who you're building for
**What you'll get:**
\- Ownership from day one. No 6 month ramp\-up period
\- Direct impact on a product with paying customers
\- Work across the full stack: AI integration, backend, frontend, infrastructure
\- Learn how an early\-stage AI product is built from the ground up
\- See how small businesses actually hire and build the tools that fix what's broken
\- Remote, flexible, startup pace
