**Junior Project Engineer – Entry Level (Civil Engineering)**
**Summary**
An entry‑level Junior Project Engineer role ideal for a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to begin their career in project management, construction support, and field engineering. This position provides hands‑on experience with project coordination, material testing, field inspections, and technical documentation. Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is essential for tracking project data, preparing reports, and supporting engineering teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Project Coordination**
— Support project managers and engineers with scheduling, task tracking, and daily project activities for civil and construction projects.
2. **Material Testing Support**
— Assist with coordinating and performing material testing (concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregates); ensure results are accurately recorded, organized, and communicated.
3. **Field Inspections**
— Participate in site visits to observe construction activities, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and document inspection findings.
4. **Technical Documentation**
— Prepare and maintain project documents including RFIs, submittals, test reports, inspection logs, meeting minutes, and change orders.
5. **Data Analysis \& Reporting**
— Use
**Excel**
and other Microsoft tools to analyze test data, create tracking sheets, and prepare progress and quality reports.
6. **Scheduling \& Tracking**
— Update project schedules using
**Microsoft Project**
or similar tools; monitor milestones, deliverables, and testing/inspection timelines.
7. **Communication \& Coordination**
— Collaborate with contractors, testing labs, inspectors, engineers, and internal teams to ensure timely information flow.
8. **Quality \& Compliance Support**
— Assist in ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines through testing, inspection, and documentation.
9. **Procurement \& Cost Support**
— Help track project costs, process invoices, and coordinate procurement of materials, testing services, or equipment.
**Qualifications**
1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
3. Familiarity with material testing procedures (ASTM, AASHTO) and basic field inspection practices.
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports.
5. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
6. Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
7. Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within an engineering team.
**Preferred Skills**
1. Internship or co‑op experience in civil engineering, construction, or materials testing.
2. Exposure to construction management software or testing lab systems.
3. Basic knowledge of CAD or GIS tools.
