Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist / ML Analyst to join our team on a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior data scientists to support high-impact data initiatives by preparing datasets, building baseline machine learning models, and generating actionable insights. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in solving real-world business problems, with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Python, including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
- Solid SQL skills for data extraction, querying, and analysis.
- Good theoretical and practical understanding of core Machine Learning algorithms such as Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, and K-Means.
- Experience in data cleaning, preprocessing, and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
- Ability to develop, test, and evaluate baseline machine learning models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts and data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support model deployment, testing, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.
- Previous internship, academic, or project experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Analytics is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or Power BI is an advantage.
- Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and version control tools such as Git is preferred.
- Experience or interest in the Banking, Financial Services, or Wealth Management domain will be considered a plus.
