Junior Civil Engineer

(Sheladia), a minority\-owned business established in 1974, is an engineering and architecture firm supporting U.S. government, state and county projects, as well as U.S. funded international projects and multi\-lateral donor bank and host\-country funded projects. **Job Description** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and analytical Junior Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Rockville, MD. As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will assist in the planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering projects, contributing to the development of sustainable infrastructure. * Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D * Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess project requirements * Perform engineering calculations and analyze data to support project designs * Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on various aspects of civil, structural or related engineering projects * Assist in the preparation of project reports, cost estimates, and technical documentation * Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients * Support the development and implementation of quality control procedures * Stay updated on local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices * Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies **Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution * 0–4 years of experience in civil engineering projects * Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred * Proficiency in AutoCAD required * Proficiency in Civil 3D and GIS software, along with experience in Revit, is preferred * Experience with ENERCALC and STAAD \- Pro is an advantage * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * Excellent mathematical and problem\-solving skills * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Basic understanding of local building codes and regulations * Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and environmental regulations **Additional Information** **Proposed Salary: $65,000\-$85,000 annual, commensurate with qualifications and experience.** *Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job\-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.* **Other compensation: opportunities for annual increase and bonus, and other types of bonuses.** Sheladia provides employees the opportunity to work in a diverse, multi\-cultural environment with exposure to and collaboration with multiple disciplines on a variety of projects.
