Junior AI Engineer / Data Scientist

We are now looking for a Junior AI Engineer / Data Scientist to join our AI team and help build the next generation of AI and ML capabilities in the platform.** **About the role** This is a junior, hands\-on role across **AI Engineering** and **Data Science** . You will join a small AI team and work closely with **Max, our AI Lead** , **Martin, our CTO** , and other developers and technical colleagues across the broader tech team. You will work across the full AI stack — from data pipelines, analysis, and model experimentation to product\-facing AI features and agent\-based workflows. The role is broad by design and gives you the chance to build practical experience across both engineering and data science in a real product environment. You will not be expected to have done everything before. What matters most is that you have a strong foundation, enjoy solving problems, and are excited to learn by building. **What you will work on** Your work will include a mix of: * Building and improving data pipelines and workflows as data volumes and use cases grow * Supporting the design, testing, and refinement of models, algorithms, and decision logic used in the product * Developing AI features and agent\-based workflows that turn connected data into clearer recommendations, insights, and next steps * Working with data from ad platforms, analytics tools, e\-commerce systems, and financial systems * Taking ideas from exploration to production together with product and engineering **Examples of projects and focus areas** In the first phase, your work may include areas such as: **Recommendation features based on connected performance data** * Help build functionality that uses campaign, conversion, sales, and business data to surface clearer recommendations on what to prioritise, investigate, or act on next. **Detection of shifts, anomalies, and performance drivers** * Support work on models and logic that help the platform identify meaningful changes, rank what matters most, and explain why performance is moving. **Agent\-based workflows for insight automation** * Contribute to systems that combine platform data, AI models, and product logic to automate parts of the insight work and help users move faster from data to action. **About the team and work culture** You will join a small AI team and be part of a broader tech organisation, which means short paths, broad scope, and close collaboration across product and engineering. A large part of the broader tech team is based in **Halmstad** (our HQ), while **Max is based in Lund** . For that reason, **Halmstad** and **Lund** are especially relevant locations for this role. This is a good environment if you are curious, forward\-leaning, and motivated by learning fast in a team where ideas are shared openly and responsibility grows quickly. **Who we are looking for** **Required** * **0\-2 years** of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or closely related work — or strong relevant internship or project experience * Strong skills in **Python** and **SQL** * Experience with one or more ML frameworks such as **PyTorch** or **TensorFlow** * Strong understanding of statistics and machine learning fundamentals * Comfortable using **AI tools** to support your work * **Fluent English** , written and spoken * A strong interest in learning new technologies and developing quickly in a practical environment **Preferred** * A **Master’s degree** in mathematics, physics, machine learning, computer science, or a related field * Experience working with marketing, e\-commerce, or other high\-volume behavioural data * Experience with **TypeScript** or **JavaScript** * Swedish language skills **More about Effektify** **Effektify** is a profitable scale\-up with **50\+ employees** and **400\+ customers** .
