Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment and onboarding of academic, administrative, and support staff, workforce planning, and maintaining accurate HR records. The Human Resources Manager will design and implement HR policies, oversee performance management processes, support employee development, and coordinate training initiatives aligned with institutional goals. Day-to-day tasks include handling employee relations, advising leadership on HR best practices, managing compensation and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and institutional regulations. The role also involves fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture, supporting change management, and collaborating with campus leadership to meet strategic workforce needs.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in recruitment, talent acquisition, and workforce planning, with experience managing end-to-end hiring processes in an academic or service-oriented environment.
- Expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management, with the ability to coach managers and staff and maintain a fair, inclusive workplace.
- Proficiency in HR policy development, compliance with labor laws, and HR documentation, including contracts, personnel files, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience with HR information systems (HRIS), HR analytics, and MS Office tools for managing data, generating reports, and supporting decision-making.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, leadership, and staff across departments.
- Proven ability in training coordination, learning and development initiatives, and change management to support institutional growth and staff capability building.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate degree or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is an advantage.
