About us

BoS is the Islamabad-based operation that provides technology, operational and business support services alongside Aetheria Group, a UK-headquartered group of regulated businesses working across health and social care, with its head office in Hertfordshire, England. You would be employed by BoS and would work closely with colleagues across the Group.

Group colleagues run care homes, and deliver consultant-led clinical services inside NHS hospitals. So the work reaches two groups of people who cannot afford for us to be sloppy: people living in residential care, and NHS patients waiting for diagnosis and treatment. That is why we take governance, safeguarding and record-keeping as seriously as we do, and why we expect the same of everyone who joins us.

Supporting a group like this means supporting colleagues in very different settings — a residential home managing an incident at two in the morning, a Saturday theatre list, a busy outpatient clinic, and a recruitment team placing clinical staff at short notice. No two weeks look the same.

About the role

This is a broad, hands-on generalist HR role with team leadership attached. You will be the senior HR presence in Islamabad, and you will lead the HR officers and associates based here.

You will be the first point of contact for managers and colleagues in Islamabad, and you will support HR activity across our UK offices in Hertfordshire and Devon. You will work closely with the Senior HR, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager in the United Kingdom, and alongside HR colleagues in Islamabad and Dubai.

Your work will include:

  • leading, developing and supervising a team of HR officers and associates — setting the standard for casework quality, record-keeping and turnaround, and holding the team to it
  • advising managers on people matters, from an early informal conversation through to formal disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence processes
  • running casework from start to finish, and keeping records that are accurate, contemporaneous and capable of withstanding scrutiny
  • drafting, reviewing and maintaining HR policies — making sure they are legally sound, and that a manager who is not an HR specialist can actually use them
  • supporting recruitment, onboarding and pre-employment vetting, applying safer recruitment principles in a group that works with children and young people
  • maintaining personnel records and HR data to a standard that withstands audit and regulatory inspection
  • supporting our work on equality, diversity and inclusion, and our obligations under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 (as amended in 2022)
  • contributing to group HR projects, including the design of HR workflows in our internal systems

Matters of English employment law are determined in the United Kingdom, by the Senior HR, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager and the Group's UK advisers. Your job is to apply Group policy consistently, to spot the issue early, and to escalate it — not to make determinations under a legal system in which you are not qualified. Your own appointment is governed by the law of Pakistan as applicable in the Islamabad Capital Territory.

About you

*Essential*

  • Assoc CIPD (CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma) or above, or actively working towards it. We also recognise the CIPD Experience Assessment route, and we will take into account SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, membership of the Pakistan Society for Human Resource Management, or a Pakistani master's-level HR qualification where it evidences comparable competence.
  • a degree in human resource management, business administration, law or a related discipline
  • at least five years' generalist HR experience, including at least two years running employee relations casework independently
  • experience of line managing or supervising HR staff, and a record of raising the quality of their work — you will be leading a team, not only advising managers
  • sound working knowledge of Pakistani employment law as it applies in the Islamabad Capital Territory, including the Industrial and Commercial Employment (Standing Orders) Ordinance 1968, the Shops and Establishments Ordinance 1969, EOBI, and the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 (as amended in 2022)
  • sound working knowledge of English employment law as it applies to HR practice. Much of the policy work is UK-facing, and you will be supporting UK colleagues daily. We are not asking you to be a lawyer, and matters of English law are determined in the United Kingdom — we are asking you to know the framework well enough to recognise the issue, apply the policy correctly, and escalate at the right moment.
  • excellent written and spoken English — you will draft policies, investigation reports and correspondence that UK colleagues, and at times regulators, will read
  • sound judgement, and the confidence to hold a position with a manager who disagrees with you
  • discretion, and a demonstrable record of handling confidential and sensitive personal information properly
  • the right to work in Pakistan

*Desirable*

  • Chartered MCIPD, or the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management. This is our stated preference, and for the right candidate we will fund progression towards Chartered membership.
  • experience of supporting a UK employer, or a UK-headquartered group, from outside the United Kingdom
  • experience in a regulated sector: health, social care, education or financial services
  • working knowledge of UK data protection law as it applies to employee records
  • experience of implementing or improving an HR system or process

What we offer

  • 14 days' paid annual leave, in addition to all notified public holidays
  • 10 days' casual leave on full pay each year
  • 8 days' paid sick leave on full pay each year, with a further certified period at half pay
  • maternity and paternity leave in line with the Maternity and Paternity Leave Act 2023
  • EOBI registration and all applicable statutory benefits
  • protected time for Jumma prayers, and reduced hours throughout Ramadan
  • funded progression towards CIPD Chartered membership, or an equivalent recognised professional qualification, for the right candidate
  • learning and development support and protected time for continuing professional development
  • G-10 office, relocating to a modern, purpose-built F-11 office in September 2026
  • a varied role with real influence over how we do things, in a group that is growing

Handling personal information in this role

This role involves access to confidential personal information about colleagues, some of it sensitive, and some of it relating to colleagues based in the United Kingdom and protected by UK data protection law. Access is granted on a role-appropriate basis only, is subject to our data protection and information security controls, and requires completion of mandatory information governance training. We take this seriously, and we will expect you to as well.

Equal opportunities and dignity at work

We are an equal opportunities employer. Every application is assessed on merit against the published requirements of the role. We do not discriminate on the grounds of gender, religion or belief, race or ethnicity, caste, place of birth, marital or family status, pregnancy or maternity, disability, or age.

We are committed to a workplace free from harassment, in line with the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 (as amended in 2022). We have a standing Inquiry Committee, our Code of Conduct is displayed in the workplace, and colleagues are also free to approach the Federal Ombudsperson directly.

We welcome applications from persons with disabilities, and we are committed to our obligations under the ICT Rights of Persons with Disability Act 2020, including reasonable accommodation and terms of employment no less favourable than those of comparable roles.

We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, and particularly from women and from groups who are under-represented in our sectors and at management level. Our teams work better when they reflect the communities, children, patients and professionals we support.

If you need any adjustment to the application or interview process, tell us. That conversation is confidential and forms no part of the assessment of your application.

Pre-employment checks

Because our group works with children, young people, and adults, appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. These include verification of your identity and qualifications, a full employment history with references covering the last five years, a written explanation of any gaps, and a Police Character Certificate.

How to apply

Send your CV and a covering note of no more than one page, setting out how you meet the essential criteria, to us via LinkedIn. Applications close at 17:00 PKT on 23 August 2026. We expect to hold first-stage interviews during week commencing 24 August 2026.

We will never ask you for money at any stage of our recruitment process, and genuine correspondence from us will only ever come from a company email address. If anyone approaches you claiming to recruit for us and asks for a payment, please report it to HR.
