Job Description

HR Manager

*AI Scale-Up (Data Centre Efficiency) | London (Hybrid)*

Our client is a fast-growing, well-funded AI company on a mission to make critical infrastructure safer, more secure and more sustainable. Their technology helps data centres cut energy usage significantly by optimising cooling - one of the biggest energy costs in the industry - unlocking major sustainability gains at scale.

They're hiring a HR Manager to build and own their people function from the ground up as they scale. You'll shape team performance, culture and employee experience end-to-end - from recruitment and contracts through to policy, performance and retention - partnering closely with their VP of Operations and leadership team.

What you'll own:

  • Full employee lifecycle - recruitment, onboarding, performance, offboarding
  • Employment contracts, HR policies and the employee handbook
  • Payroll coordination, compensation benchmarking and benefits administration
  • Employee relations, engagement, culture and internal comms
  • Disciplinary, grievance and PIP processes
  • UK employment law and GDPR compliance
  • HRIS/ATS systems and HR reporting for leadership
  • Employer branding across LinkedIn, Glassdoor and beyond

What you'll bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a People Ops, HR generalist or HR manager role, ideally within a tech startup or scale-up
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR and statutory compliance
  • Hands-on experience owning the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience with payroll coordination, comp benchmarking and benefits administration
  • Confidence running disciplinary, grievance and PIP processes independently
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) is a plus

Why join:

  • Build the people function from the ground up at a high-growth AI company solving real climate impact
  • Hybrid working from their London office, plus a cycle to work scheme
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including a generous EMI share option plan

Salary: £65,000

Location: London (Hybrid)
