Job Description
We’re supporting a growing Canadian engineering and telecommunications organization as they look to add an experienced HR Generalist to their team.
This is a broad, hands-on HR role supporting employees and managers across employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance and employee engagement.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor across the business, providing practical guidance on workplace matters while helping improve HR policies, programs and processes. What You’ll Be Working On
- Advising employees and managers on employee relations and workplace matters
- Supporting performance management and coaching managers through challenging conversations
- Conducting fair, confidential and well-documented workplace investigations
- Managing benefits and complex leave cases, including STD, LTD and workers’ compensation
- Interpreting and updating HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks
- Supporting health and safety, wellness, learning and employee engagement initiatives
- Contributing to change management, workplace culture and inclusion programs
- Monitoring employment legislation and regulatory changes
- Analyzing HR metrics, including turnover, engagement and workforce demographics
- Supporting recruitment and selection activities when required
What They’re Looking For
- Three to six years of progressive HR experience across multiple functional areas
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights and occupational health and safety legislation
- Experience supporting employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations
- Knowledge of benefits, disability management and employee leave processes
- Strong judgement, discretion, coaching and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience working with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Ability to interpret policies, analyze HR data and provide practical recommendations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Confidence managing competing priorities and complex HR matters independently
- A completed or in-progress CPHR designation, or another relevant HR certification, is considered an asset

The estimated pay rate for this position is CAD $60,000 to CAD $80,000 per year as of the posting date. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training. Please note that this range reflects the base pay rate only and does not include any applicable bonuses or benefits.
