Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail\-oriented HR Generalist to support daily HR operations within a fast\-paced manufacturing environment. This role will support both employees and leadership with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance.
The HR Generalist will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and training coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Employee Relations \& Workplace Culture**
* Support employee relations matters by addressing workplace concerns and assisting with conflict resolution
* Promote employee engagement and contribute to a positive workplace culture
* Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, surveys, and company events such as BBQs, holiday lunches, raffles, and team\-building activities
* Support attendance management, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations when required
**Recruitment \& Onboarding**
* Manage full\-cycle recruitment for manufacturing, operations, skilled trades, and administrative positions
* Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, offer preparation, and onboarding activities
* Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning strategies
* Ensure a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience for all new hires
* Follow up with leadership teams to ensure onboarding activities are completed, including 30\- and 60\-day performance feedback for new employees
**HR Administration \& HRIS Management**
* Maintain accurate, confidential, and up\-to\-date employee records and HR documentation within the HRIS platform (ADP experience considered an asset)
* Track employee information including employment history, compensation changes, training records, and compliance documentation
* Assist with HR reporting, audits, and administrative duties as needed
**Compensation, Benefits \& Payroll Support**
* Support payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and ongoing benefits administration
* Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve questions and support open enrollment activities
* Assist with compensation administration and employee benefit inquiries
* Performance Management, Training \& Development
* Assist with performance management processes including goal tracking, feedback documentation, and employee development initiatives
* Support managers in addressing performance concerns constructively and consistently
* Coordinate orientation and training programs for new hires and existing employees
* Organize training sessions, track participation, maintain learning materials, and help identify development opportunities aligned with business goals
**Compliance \& Health \& Safety**
* Ensure compliance with Ontario employment standards, workplace policies, HR best practices, and health \& safety regulations
* Assist in implementing and enforcing HR policies and procedures
* Support workplace audits and help maintain updated employee handbooks and policy documentation
**Reporting \& Metrics**
* Prepare and analyze HR reports related to headcount, turnover, compensation, attendance, and diversity metrics
* Provide HR data and insights to support strategic decision\-making and workforce planning
**Qualifications \& Experience**
* Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades environments
* Strong experience with talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration
* Thorough knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR compliance requirements
* Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications; ADP experience considered a strong asset
* Professional HR certifications such as CHRP, SHRM\-CP, or PHR are considered strong assets
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship\-building skills
* Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
* Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and problem\-solving abilities
* Highly organized with strong multitasking and time\-management skills
* Ability to balance both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities in a fast\-paced environment
