Job Description
EB Games Canada has an exciting new opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist at our head office in Brampton, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree from a four\-year college or university as well as three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. If you enjoy collaborating with various teams to positively impact the business and employee experience, possess a strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR and have excellent problem\-solving and communication skills, this is a great role for you.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Acting as a trusted HR partner to field leaders, guiding them through difficult employee relations issues and best practices.
* Collaborating with field leaders on investigations to foster a safe, compliant, and respectful workplace.
* Providing sound, legally compliant recommendations on performance management and accelerated disciplinary processes.
* Monitoring changes in provincial labour laws and proactively updating internal practices.
* Ensuring legal compliance for assigned client groups by managing employment\-related claims, conducting investigations, and coordinating with legal counsel to formulate appropriate responses.
* Driving full\-cycle recruitment for head office and field leadership roles, from sourcing and behavioural interviewing to final selection.
* Conducting engaging onboarding and orientation sessions to introduce new hires to company culture and policies.
* Providing recruitment support to field managers with advertising positions on local sites and/or assisting with career fairs while ensuring strict adherence to pay transparency legislation.
* Ensuring compliance with compensation guidelines. Staying informed and participating in the analysis of any upcoming provincial minimum wage increases, Pay Equity compliance/audit requests. Conducting wage surveys and benchmarking within labour market to determine competitive wage rates and bonus/incentive payouts.
* Assisting with managing the performance evaluation program for field operations group. Assisting in performance evaluation program revisions as needed.
* Assisting in needs analysis, development of training programs, and facilitating the training of field operations and Head Office associates to support HR and company goals and initiatives.
* Participating in revamping and maintaining the employee handbook to ensure alignment with company culture and updated employment laws.
* Acting as an additional resource for associates, offering accurate and compassionate support on benefits, vacation and sick leave, leaves of absence, and other workplace policies to ensure a positive employee experience.
The skills and experience required for success in this role are:
* Significant knowledge of full\-cycle recruitment process;
* Strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR;
* Excellent judgment and problem\-solving skills;
* Knowledge about conflict management;
* Strong decision\-making skills;
* Excellent communication skills;
* Knowledge of Human Resources systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software are required.
* Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word, ADP Enterprise System and UKG are helpful.
