Job Description
Our Future Health is the UK's largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to transform the future of healthcare. Today, millions of people across the UK live with conditions such as cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease. By bringing together 5 million volunteers from across the UK, Our Future Health is creating one of the most detailed pictures of human health ever assembled.
We're looking for a

By transforming externally defined research criteria into reliable feasibility analyses and reproducible cohort selection workflows, the Health Data Scientist will ensure that external researchers and research organisations can design robust studies and make informed decisions, grounded in the strengths of the resource.
Also by contributing to the development of future feasibility products, such as automated tools and data exploration interfaces, the Health Data Scientist will help shape scalable, efficient systems that support the long\-term growth of the programme and unlock greater research value from the resource.
**You will:**
* Deliver end\-to\-end feasibility analyses by interpreting stakeholder specifications, mapping requirements to available datasets, conducting analyses, and preparing clear, accurate outputs
* Translate inclusion and exclusion criteria into relevant variables, phenotype definitions, and medical code sets (e.g., SNOMED CT, ICD10, Read) to support consistent feasibility and cohort selection work
* Support feasibility assessments for (clinical) research recruitment services, grant applications, study design, and early\-stage research enquiries, including feasibility studies based on genotypes.
* Perform cohort selection across a range of data sources (questionnaires, EHR, linkage data, genetic data) using stakeholder defined criteria and reproducible analytical workflows
* Contribute to the design and development of future, self\-service feasibility and data browsing tools and products
* Collaborate with internal scientific and data teams to ensure analytical outputs meet ethical, data protection and other regulatory requirements
* Support continuous improvement by contributing to shared coding standards, documentation, and learning practices within the Epidemiology and Science team
