Job Description
This is a pure hardware engineering position. You will design and modify analog, digital, and power circuits, do PCB layout in Altium Designer, select and evaluate components, and support our US\-based engineering team remotely. Physical prototyping and lab testing happen at our US facility — your focus is design, analysis, and documentation.
You must be available during US Eastern business hours (approximately 7 PM – 3 AM PKT) — this is a firm requirement for real\-time collaboration with our team.
**What you'll do**
* Design and modify analog, digital, and power circuits for thermal printer products
* Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer — production\-ready output
* Evaluate and source component alternatives; support AVL management
* Perform design calculations and circuit\-level analysis
* Review First Article Inspections from contract manufacturers
* Analyze field failures from data and photos — identify root cause, recommend fixes
* Support FCC, CE, and UL certification documentation
* Release Gerbers and design documentation to manufacturing
**Who you are**
You are a hardware person first and foremost. You think in schematics. You know what happens on the bench when a cap is the wrong value or a trace is too narrow. You have strong electronics fundamentals from your EE education and you've continued building on them through your own projects and curiosity.
Ideally, you build things outside of work too — a custom PCB, a robot, a radio, a power supply, anything that shows electronics is more than just a job for you. We will ask about this in your application, so come ready to share.
**Must\-haves**
* Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an HEC\-recognized university (NUST, UET, NED, GIKI, FAST, COMSATS, or equivalent)
* 3\+ years of hands\-on circuit design and hardware development experience
* Altium Designer — schematic capture and PCB layout to production standard
* Strong analog and digital circuit fundamentals
* Familiarity with EMC and safety standards (FCC, CE, UL or equivalent)
* Strong English communication — written and spoken
**Strong differentiators**
* Experience with thermal printers, label printers, POS terminals, or similar electromechanical products — the single biggest plus
* Power supply design: AC/DC converters, DC/DC regulators for embedded products
* Stepper motor drive circuitry and thermal print head electronics
* Serial interfaces: RS\-232, USB, Ethernet in POS or kiosk environments
* Contract manufacturer workflows: FAI review, BOM management, Gerber release
