White Label are excited to be recruiting for
a Graduate / Junior Design Engineer
for a thriving engineering company in the
Lancaster area.
They are a successful sheet metal manufacturer and are looking for an ambitious engineering graduate or junior-level Design Engineer who is keen to develop their career within a supportive and experienced design team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience, develop their CAD skills and work on a variety of bespoke engineering projects from concept through to manufacture.
Junior Designer Requirements:
- Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous placement year, internship or industry experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor or Solid Edge
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Well-organised team player with a proactive approach
- Good problem-solving skills and an interest in design and manufacturing
- Enthusiastic about developing a long-term career in engineering design
Your responsibilities:
- Use SOLIDWORKS to create 3D models, assemblies and engineering drawings
- Support the Design team with a range of customer and bespoke projects
- Assist with all stages of the design process, from concept through to manufacture
- Produce parts lists, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
- Work closely with Sales, Production and Fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
- Assist with design reviews and modifications throughout the manufacturing process
- Learn and apply engineering principles to support product development activities
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for design improvements
- Gain exposure to customer projects and product development initiatives
The business is offering a salary of £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience, alongside a discretionary bonus scheme, excellent company culture and low staff turnover.
