Job Description
**Purpose of the role** The Global Rewards Manager plays a critical role in shaping, governing, and delivering Ahlstrom’s global rewards practices. The role ensures that compensation, incentives, job architecture, and reward governance are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with Ahlstrom’s business strategy, financial performance, and long‑term sustainability ambition. The role acts as a senior rewards expert within the organization, translating global reward strategy into consistent execution across geographies while balancing global principles with local market realities. The Global Rewards Manager partners closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to support informed decision‑making and high‑quality reward outcomes. The role reports to VP Total Rewards, and is located in one of the Ahlstrom's main locations in Europe. **Main Responsibilities Global Rewards \& Compensation Frameworks** * Lead and support the design, governance, and continuous improvement of Ahlstrom’s global rewards framework, including base pay, salary structures, and market benchmarking. * Ensure global consistency of reward principles while enabling appropriate local flexibility in line with legislation and market practice. * Provide expert advice on reward positioning, internal equity, and external competitiveness to HR and business leaders. * Contribute to the evolution of global reward strategy to support business priorities, transformation initiatives, and workforce needs. **Salary review \& incentive programs** * Lead and coordinate the global execution of annual salary review processes, including guidelines, governance, analytics, and stakeholder support. * Manage the operational delivery of Short‑Term Incentive (STI) and Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) processes globally, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance. * Support Long‑Term Incentive (LTI) processes, including data preparation, validation, simulations, and coordination with Finance and external providers. * Analyze incentive outcomes and provide insights on effectiveness, alignment with performance, and cost implications. **Job architecture, grading \& pay transparency** * Act as a key expert and contributor to Ahlstrom’s job architecture and job evaluation framework, ensuring consistent application across functions and geographies. * Support role evaluations, grading discussions, and structural reviews in partnership with HR and business leaders. * Contribute to pay equity analyses and readiness for regulatory developments, including EU Pay Transparency requirements. * Support the development of clear narratives and materials to explain job architecture and reward decisions to stakeholders. **Governance, policy \& risk management** * Ensure rewards practices comply with Ahlstrom policies, governance standards, and local legal requirements. * Contribute to the development, maintenance, and communication of Total Rewards policies, guidelines, and FAQs. * Act as a point of escalation for complex, sensitive, or non‑standard reward cases, providing balanced and well‑reasoned recommendations. **Stakeholder partnership \& capability building** * Partner closely with HR Business Partners and leaders to support reward‑related decision‑making across the organization. * Build reward capability within HR and management populations through guidance, training, tools, and clear frameworks. * Contribute to global rewards community initiatives, forums, and continuous improvement efforts. **Analytics, systems \& continuous improvement** * Deliver reward analytics, reporting, and insights to support leadership decision‑making and governance. * Support effective use and continuous improvement of HR systems (e.g. SuccessFactors) for reward processes. * Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve reward processes and employee experience globally. **Leadership \& Ahlstrom Values (HOW We Work)** At Ahlstrom, performance is assessed based on both WHAT is delivered and HOW it is delivered. Care – Shows care for people, safety, communities, and the environment, ensuring reward practices support well‑being, inclusion, and sustainability. **Experience \& Capabilities** * 6–10 years of experience in Compensation \& Benefits / Total Rewards, in an international or matrix organization. * Strong expertise in salary review processes, incentive programs, job evaluation, and reward governance. * Solid analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations. * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority. * Ability to operate effectively in a complex, global environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. * Demonstrated interest or experience in leveraging AI, automation, and advanced analytics to enhance Rewards effectiveness, including pay benchmarking, incentive analytics, scenario modeling, and decision support. * Ability to partner with HRIS, Digital, and Analytics teams to translate emerging AI capabilities into practical, compliant, and value‑adding Rewards use cases, while ensuring data quality, governance, and ethical use. **Interested?** In case you are interested please submit your application, no later than April 27th, 2026\.
