Role Overview
Verita AI is sourcing experienced GL Accountants to contribute to AI training data projects on a remote, freelance basis. In this role, you will apply your accounting expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs, identify gaps in reasoning, and translate professional workflows into structured tasks that help AI systems learn how accountants actually work. This is a long-term engagement with flexible hours and no fixed schedule.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, reasoning quality, and domain correctness
- Translate real-world accounting workflows into structured tasks designed for AI training
- Identify gaps, edge cases, and reasoning errors that only a practicing accountant would catch
- Document your assumptions, thought processes, and professional judgment clearly in written form Provide structured feedback used directly by engineering teams to improve AI model performance
Domain Focus
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Financial reporting and compliance requirements
- Application of GAAP and IFRS standards
- Audit readiness and internal controls
Requirements
- 5 to 8 or more years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP; IFRS familiarity is a plus
- Hands-on ERP experience with NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or comparable platforms
- CPA preferred; candidates with equivalent experience and credentials will be considered
- Ability to articulate reasoning and document professional judgment clearly in writing
Work Style and Expectations
All work is asynchronous and conducted via Slack and internal tools. There is no fixed schedule and no required meetings beyond initial onboarding. Candidates should expect to engage consistently and are encouraged to commit 15 to 20 or more hours per week. A minimum of 10 hours per week is required. This engagement is designed for professionals who can work independently, manage their own time, and deliver high-quality written outputs without close supervision.
Compensation
Rate: $100 to $125 per hour USD, depending on experience
