Our client operates a highly regarded boutique hospitality property located in one of Canada’s most breathtaking natural settings. The organization is seeking an experienced General Manager – Hospitality to lead the property and oversee all operational, financial, and cultural aspects of the business. This individual will be responsible for maintaining exceptional service standards, supporting a strong team culture, and ensuring the property continues to operate as a premier destination for discerning travellers.
**General Description:**
The General Manager provides overall leadership across the property’s core departments, including accommodations, food \& beverage, guest services, facilities, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the property while maintaining a high standard of guest experience and operational performance.
Working closely with ownership and senior leadership, the General Manager will guide the strategic direction of the property while also remaining closely connected to day\-to\-day operations. The successful candidate will oversee service delivery, property presentation, culinary offerings, and guest engagement while maintaining strong financial oversight and regulatory compliance.
This role requires a hospitality leader who is comfortable balancing strategy with hands\-on operational leadership. The General Manager will lead a seasonal and diverse workforce, support department leaders, and help foster a collaborative team environment in a remote destination setting. Strong business acumen, communication skills, and a passion for hospitality are essential.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Oversee the day\-to\-day operations of all departments including guest accommodations, dining operations, front desk services, facilities, and administrative functions.
* Ensure the property, buildings, and infrastructure are maintained to exceptional standards.
* Oversee employee housing and team accommodations, ensuring safe and well\-managed living arrangements for staff.
* Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, guest services, and overall efficiency.
* Lead seasonal planning initiatives including reservations strategy, recruitment, and operational preparation.
* Mentor and support department leaders while encouraging professional growth and leadership development across the team.
* Provide visible leadership on property and assist operational teams during busy periods or unexpected situations.
* Engage directly with guests to ensure every stay meets the organization’s high standards for hospitality.
* Partner with sales and marketing teams to drive bookings, increase revenue, and strengthen market visibility.
* Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
* Monitor financial performance including labour costs, revenue, and operational expenditures.
* Foster a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
* Ensure effective communication across departments and leadership teams.
* Maintain all workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
**Qualifications:**
* 5–10 years of senior leadership experience within hospitality, resort, or destination property operations.
* Demonstrated experience managing multi\-department teams in high\-service environments.
* Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and P\&L oversight.
* Experience leading operations in seasonal or remote hospitality environments is highly valued.
* Solid understanding of facility operations and building systems.
* Comfortable working with property management systems and hospitality technology platforms.
* Excellent leadership presence, communication skills, and decision\-making ability.
* Valid driver’s license.
**Working Conditions:**
* Ability to live on\-site for extended periods during the operating season.
* Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
* Comfortable working in a remote destination environment.
