You’ll work directly with the founders to expand Mage AI’s core platform — the AI\-native data operating system that powers how teams build, automate, and scale AI. Mage replaces 3–4 tools, unlocks reliability, and makes AI accessible beyond scarce data engineers to analysts and business teams. **Backed By World\-class AI Builders** * Gradient Ventures (Google) * Guillermo Rauch (Vercel) What You’ll Do * Build and ship product: own full features from backend logic to front\-end polish across Mage AI’s unified platform. * Architect scalable systems that power data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and AI workflows. * Collaborate tightly with design and product to translate user needs into high\-impact functionality. * Work across the stack — APIs, databases, React components, cloud deployments, and real\-time interfaces. * Contribute to performance and reliability: write clean, efficient code and improve system observability. * Shape developer experience by extending Mage’s internal frameworks, CLI tools, and SDKs. * Own quality and speed — deploy often, test rigorously, and iterate quickly based on feedback. * Follow secure development practices, including proper handling of sensitive data, dependency management, and adherence to access control and data protection policies * Identify, remediate, and support resolution of security and reliability issues (e.g., through static testing, dependency updates, code reviews, and monitoring) * Contribute to system reliability and availability by maintaining high\-quality code, participating in incident response, and supporting production operations as needed Who You Are * Strong experience with Python or Node.js on the backend and React \+ TypeScript on the frontend. * Solid understanding of web architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure). * Proven ability to deliver production\-grade systems that scale and perform. * Product\-minded engineer — you think about usability, DX, and customer value, not just code. * Comfortable in high\-velocity startup environments with deep ownership and cross\-functional collaboration. * Bonus: familiarity with data engineering, pipelines, or AI/ML infrastructure.
