Job Description
**It’s not a package. It’s a promise®.** As Canada’s leading integrated freight, package, and logistics provider, we’ve been helping promises get where they need to be for more than 60 years. How does the magic happen? **The journey starts with you** . The places we go, the elements we brave, the promises we deliver – **it’s all possible because of our people.** So, whether you’re looking to build new skills, make an impact in your community, or inspire your team, **we go there** for you. **Description** **Purolator Digital Lab (PDL)** is a division of Purolator Inc. that is dedicated to the rapid development of engineered technologies. Our goal is to deliver tech that enables Purolator to be the premier freight, parcel, and logistics provider in Canada. PDL is a well\-funded startup within Purolator, a progressive and profitable Canadian company. This division is developing several systems to drive new business for Purolator and our strategic partners. We are looking for a **Software Developer, Front\-End** to join our Engineering team. Someone who thrives on variety, moves fast, and cares deeply about what they build. **The Role** As a Software Developer on the PDL Engineering team, you'll own the front\-end execution across a portfolio of fast\-moving projects; PoCs, MVPs, and production systems that span digital acceleration, AI tooling, IoT, and beyond. You'll be the front\-end anchor on a team of backend\-leaning full\-stacks, which means your craft will be visible and your ownership real. You won't just be handed designs to implement. You'll think through what you're building, the edge cases, the user experience, what happens after it ships and bring that thinking to the table without being asked. We move fast, but we care about doing it right. **Responsibilities Include** * Owning front\-end architecture, component design, and UI execution across multiple concurrent projects * Collaborating with Purolator's design team and making independent design decisions when needed * Integrating front\-end work with APIs and back\-end services * Delivering PoCs and MVPs quickly without leaving a mess behind * Participating in code reviews, sprint planning, and contributing to team standards * Writing documentation as part of shipping **Technologies You'll Work With** Our Stack Spans Web, Mobile, Cloud, And AI, And It Shifts As The Problems Do. You Won't Be Maintaining The Same App For Three Years. Here's What's In Play Right Now * JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML/CSS * Vue or Angular (asset) * Mobile development \- Flutter, React Native (asset) * Component libraries and design systems * C\#, .NET, Node.js, Python (back\-end integration context) * Gen AI \& Agents (Copilot, Claude, GPT), AI\-assisted development workflows * Microsoft Azure DevOps (work assignment, pipelines, releases) * Microsoft Azure cloud computing (service hosting) **The Candidate** **This Role Is For You If You** * Take genuine ownership of your work \- thinking through the full picture, not just the ticket in front of you * Have a sharp eye for detail and care about the quality of what you ship, visually and technically * Thrive in a high\-volume, multi\-project environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is normal * Are genuinely curious about new problems, tools, and domains \- and lean into AI rather than away from it * Collaborate well with designers, back\-end developers, and stakeholders, and hold your own when design decisions need to be made independently * Communicate clearly and document your work without being asked * Find the fast\-paced, PoC\-heavy rhythm of an R\&D team energizing, not exhausting **Required Skills** * 3\-5 years of experience in full\-stack development with a strong front\-end bias * Proficiency in React and TypeScript; solid command of HTML/CSS and responsive design * Experience integrating front\-end applications with REST APIs and back\-end services * Familiarity with component libraries and design systems * Comfortable working across the stack \- Node.js, Python, or C\#/.NET exposure is an asset * Experience with version control (Git) and agile development practices * Strong communication and documentation skills * Experience with or genuine interest in AI\-assisted development workflows * Mobile development experience (Flutter, React Native) is a plus **Who are we?** The PDL Engineering team is small, sharp, and moves fast. You'll work alongside people who are genuinely excited about what they're building \- across robotics, AI, IoT, computer vision, and more. There's no hand\-holding here, but there's plenty of collaboration. If you're the kind of person who comes in with ideas and leaves having shipped something real, you'll fit right in. * Industry\-leading total compensation and benefits * A modern technology stack in a team that values innovative ideas and moves fast * A diverse and inclusive environment that is friendly to family commitments * Team outings and social events * Mentorship and growth opportunities across a wide range of technologies and domains * Make a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Canadians every day **Language Requirement:** Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs. **POSTING DETAILS Location:** 053 \- Kitchener **Working Conditions:** Office Environment **Reports to:** Manager Software Development Purolator is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion **.** We welcome all qualified applicants and provide accommodations during the recruitment process upon request.
