Freelance Legal Counsel – Contracts & Compliance

**Freelance Legal Counsel – Apps, Contracts \& Compliance** Format – Contract Remuneration – Fixed Fee Type – Remote   We are looking for a dependable freelance lawyer to support a growing digital/app business across legal documentation, compliance, contracts, IP, and app\-store related formalities. This role requires end\-to\-end ownership, practical judgment, strong follow\-through, and the ability to work with specialist counsel whenever needed. **Key Responsibilities** ·      Draft, review, update, and maintain core legal documents such as Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, consent\-related pages, refund policy, subscription terms, and other app/business legal documents. ·      Lead app\-store and platform compliance formalities, including Play Store / App Store policy alignment, required disclosures, age\-gate / child policy / parental notice requirements, and related consumer\-facing legal content. ·      Advise on app\-related policies, digital product compliance, and legal risks so that launches, updates, and operations remain compliant and low\-risk. ·      Handle copyright, trademark, brand protection, and coordinate filings or work with specialist IP counsel wherever needed. ·      Review and advise on creative asset, music, content, vendor, freelancer, agency, and licensing agreements, including open\-source notices and usage rights. ·      Draft, vet, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, service agreements, consulting agreements, and other standard business documents. ·      Track timelines, filings, renewals, and legal action points to ensure work is completed accurately and on time, with minimal mistakes and no missed compliances. ·      Provide practical legal support to the founder/business team and help build legally sound systems as the business scales. ·      Other legal or compliance related work ·        **What We Are Looking For** ·      Lawyer with relevant experience in contracts, consumer\-facing businesses, startups, or compliance\-heavy advisory work. ·      Strong drafting skills, practical business understanding, and the ability to simplify legal issues into clear action points. ·      Ability to take end\-to\-end ownership, work independently, and coordinate with specialist lawyers where a matter needs deeper subject expertise. ·      High attention to detail, strong follow\-up, timely execution, and sound judgment. ·      Someone commercially sensible, responsive, and cost\-conscious while still ensuring full legal coverage. **Preferred Qualities** ·      Reliable, thorough, and solutions\-oriented. ·      Comfortable working on a freelance / retainer basis with a founder\-led team. ·      Able to balance legal protection, speed, and practical business needs. **Nature of Role** This is a freelance role for someone who can become a trusted legal support partner to the business across ongoing legal, compliance, platform, and documentation needs.
