**Role Title**
UAE Leader – Trade \& Exports Development Office (Dubai or Abu Dhabi Based)
**Reporting Line**
Reports to: Project Director
Works closely with and manages a team: Two UAE\-based Analysts responsible for research, CRM, documentation, and reporting support.
**Location:**
Dubai or Abu Dhabi, UAE. Frequent travel within UAE
**Role Overview**
We are establishing a permanent UAE\-based representation office to support one of our government clients domestic exporters in securing commercial contracts with UAE buyers, EPC contractors, developers, and distributors across priority sectors.
The UAE Leader will be the
**primary commercial execution lead**
, responsible for:
* Identifying and activating UAE buyers
* Converting structured B2B meetings into booked export orders
* Engaging EPC contractors and developers at procurement and commercial levels
* Driving pipeline discipline from first contact to confirmed PO
This is a commercially focused, KPI\-driven role requiring strong sales capability within the UAE market.
**Core Objectives (Year 1\)**
The Engagement Manager will be accountable for contributing to:
* Number of verified buyer introductions
* Number of booked export orders
* Increasing average order size through EPC and project\-linked supply
* Successful execution of targeted UAE trade exhibitions
* Active opportunity pipeline across priority sectors
This is a performance\-driven role with measurable commercial targets.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1\. Buyer \& EPC Activation**
* Map and engage procurement leaders at UAE EPC contractors, developers, and industrial buyers
* Secure structured B2B meetings between exporters and UAE decision\-makers
* Navigate vendor registration and pre\-qualification systems
* Identify upcoming tenders and project\-led supply opportunities
* Maintain active relationships with:
* EPC contractors
* Master developers
* Major distributors
* Industrial manufacturers
* Retail chains (where applicable)
**2\. Deal Conversion \& Negotiation Support**
* Manage commercial progression from meeting → negotiation → booked order
* Support pricing positioning and commercial structuring discussions
* Coordinate compliance and documentation with analysts and exporters
* Maintain disciplined follow\-up cadence to accelerate order closure
* Escalate large\-value deals to senior leadership where required
**3\. Exhibition \& Market Activation**
* Lead buyer agenda development for UAE trade exhibitions
* Secure meaningful procurement meetings during events
* Ensure post\-event commercial follow\-up converts into tangible pipeline activity
**4\. Pipeline Governance**
* Maintain live CRM tracking of:
* Meetings
* Negotiations
* Orders
* Sector conversion rates
* Participate in bi\-weekly governance calls with client leadership
* Contribute to KPI reporting and performance optimisation discussions
**Candidate Profile – Essential**
**Experience**
* 7–12 years of experience; with at least 3 years in the UAE
* Background in one or more of:
* EPC contractors (Business Development / Commercial)
* Construction materials sales
* Infrastructure project supply
* Industrial distribution
* Oil \& gas commercial roles
* Demonstrable experience closing B2B contracts in UAE market
* Strong understanding of:
* UAE procurement structures
* Vendor registration processes
* Framework agreements
* Tender cycles
**Sector Experience (Highly Desirable)**
Experience in any of:
* Building materials
* Construction supply chains
* Industrial equipment
* Infrastructure projects
* Oil \& gas supply
* Food/FMCG distribution
* Packaging/manufacturing
**Skills**
* Strong commercial negotiation capability
* Ability to influence senior procurement stakeholders
* High follow\-up discipline and structured sales approach
* Experience managing multi\-stakeholder deals
* Comfortable operating within KPI\-driven performance environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; Arabic a plus)
