Leo Science is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of professional experience in accounting and demonstrate proficiency in managing financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. This role demands a strong background in various accounting functions including account reconciliation, tax preparation, budgeting, and forecasting. The Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial data through effective use of accounting software and systems.
The Accountant is responsible for managing transactions related to accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and assisting with audit processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. The role also involves maintaining records of receipts, payments, and bank transactions while utilizing Point of Sale invoicing systems to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. The successful candidate must be proficient with industry-standard software such as QuickBooks and SAP FI, along with strong skills in Excel for detailed financial analysis and reporting. This position does not require managing a team but emphasizes a collaborative approach within the finance department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to support business decision-making.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Oversee general ledger maintenance by posting and verifying journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Conduct tax preparation and assist with tax filings in compliance with current regulations and company policies.
- Develop budgets and forecasts in coordination with management to support financial planning and control.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements by coordinating audit activities and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain detailed records of receipts, payments, bank transactions, and POS invoicing system data to support financial tracking and reporting.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and SAP FI to streamline and automate financial processes.
- Perform financial analysis to identify financial trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for financial improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices, regulations, and technological advancements relevant to the role.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to gather financial information needed for accurate reporting and analysis.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
