Expense Accountant (9 Month FTC)
📍 London | Hybrid (3 days in the office)
💰 Up to £70,000 + Benefits
I'm currently partnering with a leading London Market insurer who is looking to appoint an experienced
Expense Accountant
on a
9-month fixed-term contract
.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, supporting day-to-day expense accounting, month-end reporting and Accounts Payable activities while contributing to ongoing finance projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close, including accruals, prepayments and journals
- Prepare reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure expenses are accurately recorded and reported
- Assist with Accounts Payable processes, payment runs and cash flow activities
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and outsourced providers
- Maintain a robust financial control environment and support audit requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous insurance finance experience (Lloyd's or London Market preferred)
- Strong month-end accounting experience
- Experience preparing journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- ERP system experience (Oracle advantageous)
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
