Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Estimation Engineer – Metal Fabrication \& Costing
to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in reviewing engineering drawings and preparing accurate cost estimations for fabricated metal products.
Job Responsibilities
- Review customer inquiries, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Calculate material quantities and product weight from fabrication drawings.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for metal fabricated products including:
- Metal cabinets and enclosures
- Steel structures and fabricated items
- Sheet metal products
- Tubular steel and fabricated assemblies
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Estimate raw material, fabrication, galvanizing, painting, welding, and labor costs.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, and design departments for costing inputs.
- Prepare quotations and maintain costing records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / DAE in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum
3–5 years experience
in metal fabrication estimation/costing.
- Strong ability to read engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal, steel fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Excel
- Experience in preparing weight calculations and costing of fabricated metal products is mandatory.
Preferred Experience:
Candidates having experience in any of the following industries will be preferred:
- Metal fabrication
- Electrical cabinets/enclosures
- Transmission line hardware
- Steel structures
- Industrial manufacturing
