Engineering Designer and Field Engineer - Victoria

We are currently seeking an  **Engineering Designer and Field Engineer**  to support projects across Victoria and Vancouver Island. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands\-on in the field, while also contributing to design coordination and problem\-solving alongside a highly collaborative engineering team. If you’re looking to accelerate your career in a dynamic environment and take ownership of projects in a growing market, we’d like to hear from you. **What You Bring** * B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology Diploma * 0–3 years of relevant experience (co\-op or site experience is an asset) * Strong understanding of construction drawings and structural systems * Familiarity with concrete, wood\-frame, and/or steel construction * Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites **You Are Also…** * A problem\-solver who thrives in a fast\-paced environment * Comfortable working independently in the field while staying connected with the design team * A strong communicator with contractors, consultants, and clients * Organized, detail\-oriented, and proactive * Motivated to grow technically and professionally **What You’ll Be Doing** * Conducting field reviews and structural observations across a variety of projects, including concrete high\-rise, wood\-frame, and institutional buildings * Acting as a key liaison between the design team and construction site * Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor inquiries, and helping develop practical, constructible solutions * Preparing site instructions and construction\-phase documentation * Supporting project engineers with coordination and technical reviews * Assisting in resolving field issues efficiently and effectively * Design of wood\-frame, concrete, steel and Mass Timber structures. * Gaining exposure to design, analysis, and project delivery as part of a fully integrated team **Why Join Glotman•Simpson** * Be part of a high\-performing, entrepreneurial team in a growing market * Work on meaningful, high\-profile projects across Vancouver Island * Receive mentorship and hands\-on training from experienced engineers and principals * Opportunity to take ownership and grow quickly * Collaborative, supportive culture focused on excellence, innovation, and long\-term growth **Compensation** Expected salary range: $75,000 – $85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
