Location: Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District, Theodore Roosevelt Elementary (Prek-2, exact grade level TBD)

Salary/Pay Scale: $45,729 (+ $2,200 Master's) per the CSUFSD TAC Contract

Position Summary/Purpose In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive, student-centered learning environment that recognizes all students' unique needs and talents by integrating character education with a critical-thinking curriculum. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child to create lifelong learners who are best prepared for college, careers, and beyond.

Responsibilities \& Skills

• Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction across all content areas, with a strong emphasis on literacy development
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Science of Reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, and apply this knowledge to daily instruction
• Implement structured, systematic, and explicit literacy instruction aligned to evidence-based reading practices
• Utilize explicit instruction techniques, including clear learning targets, modeling, guided practice, and frequent checks for understanding
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, linguistic, social, and emotional needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners
• Establish and maintain a classroom culture grounded in restorative practices, emphasizing strong relationships, student voice, accountability, and community
• Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely, actionable feedback
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress
• Integrate instructional technology purposefully to enhance student engagement and learning
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
• Actively participate in grade-level, school, and district meetings, and engage in ongoing professional learning
• Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues to support student success
• Model professionalism by maintaining high expectations for all learners and supporting them in reaching their full potential
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee

Requirements and Qualifications:

• NYS Certification in Elementary Education is required
• Experience as a primary classroom teacher preferred
