Electrical Engineer – Li-ion Batteries

We are currently looking for an **Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in Li\-ion batteries** for an exciting onsite assignment with a **leading automotive OEM in Södertälje, Sweden** . This role focuses on **next\-life planning for used Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs)** , where you will play a key role in assessing battery health and translating technical insights into real business decisions. You will work in a cross\-functional setup alongside **data scientists, software engineers, and data engineers** , contributing deep battery domain expertise to ensure accurate and reliable insights. **Key Responsibilities** * Assess **Battery State of Health (SOH)** and **Remaining Useful Life (RUL)** * Analyze **vehicle and battery data** to understand degradation patterns * Evaluate aging factors such as **temperature, state of charge, and charging behavior** * Compare **onboard and offboard battery health estimates** and explain deviations * Define **limitations and confidence levels** of battery lifetime models * Translate technical findings into **actionable business insights** (pricing, warranty risk, residual value) **Requirements** * Degree in **Electrical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Battery Technology, Materials Science** , or similar * Strong expertise in **Li\-ion battery technology and degradation mechanisms** * Experience with **battery lifetime assessment** (calendar aging, cycle aging, real\-world usage) * Solid understanding of **SOH, RUL, capacity fade, resistance increase** * Experience working with **battery data, BMS, diagnostics, or testing** * Ability to **interpret and challenge model outputs** * Fluent in **English** **Nice to Have** * Experience with **Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs)** * Exposure to **second\-life battery use, residual value, or warranty risk** * Experience comparing **onboard vs external battery models** * Basic knowledge of **Python, SQL, or similar tools**
