Job Description
**Deadline:** Wed 27 May 2026 00:00:00 UTC * Deadline: Wed 27 May 2026 00:00:00 UTC * East Timor: Dili. * Lorosa'e English Language Institute (LELI) Company Information LELI was established in 2002, and having developed an excellent reputation, is now recognised as the premium English language training organisation in Timor\-Leste. Our clients include a variety of government ministries and respected national institutions, prestigious international organisations, local businesses, and private individuals. * Experience: 3 YEARS * Number of positions: 2 * Degree Required **Job Summary** Details of Position **LELI IS RECRUITING FULL\-TIME EFL TEACHERS FOR A JULY START DATE** Successful applicants will be expected to teach across a variety of courses including General English, English for the Workplace, IELTS Preparation and English for Specific Purposes. Teachers at LELI need to be comfortable planing, preparing and adapting lessons and/or creating contextually appropriate materials to suit specific client and/or student needs. All teachers at LELI are expected to be available to work full\-time from Monday to Friday and depending on the programme and/or client, teachers may have early morning starts and/or evening finishes. Successful applicants will be expected to teach up to 24 hours per week in addition to completing basic administrative tasks. The majority of our students are working adults and have a low to moderate level of English (typically CEF A1 \- B1\). Currently, we deliver English language courses and programmes for a wide range of orgasnisations and institutions including Government of Timor\-Leste officials; Timorese military personnel; immigration and border force agency staff; candidates selected to work overseas on semi\-skilled worker programmes; staff from international humanitarian and development organisations; employees from international companies working in a variety of industry sectors; potential overseas scholarship candidates; and locally employed staff at foreign diplomatic missions including the Australian, New Zealand and American Embassies. On occasion, there will be opportunities to provide one\-to\-one tuition to high\-profile individuals. Additionally, we teach approximately 600 students per trimester on our increasingly popular General English public course programme, of which a growing number of students are teenagers. The standard of education in Timor is generally quite poor, rote learning is commonplace and IT literacy is often limited, so the majority of our students need a lot of support with their learning. Therefore, in conjunction with building students English language proficiency, teachers at LELI are expected to help develop students analytical and critical thinking skills, and help to foster autonomous learning practices. Dili is a small, quiet, unpretentious city and is a very different environment to most South\-East Asian cities. The heat and humidity is not to be underestimated, nor is its remote and isolated location, so it's certainly not a place that suits everyone. However, for those with a sense of adventure willing to invest their time and energy, not only is it a beautiful island with stunning landscapes to explore, but it's undoubtedly a land of opportunity and reward, and successful applicants would be helping to make a genuine difference in the development of a nation that is rich in culture and history. *Please note. If you are interested in the position, please ensure an up\-to\-date contact telephone/WhatsApp number is included in your TEFL application/CV, so that we can contact you directly and quickly. We have had issues with emails being delivered to spam folders. Thank you.* **Qualifications** Cambridge CELTA All Applicants MUST have a CELTA or equivalent TEFL qualification.
