Role Overview

Rho Nutrition is seeking an experienced Director of Retail Sales to lead and accelerate the company’s wholesale and retail expansion strategy. This role will own relationships with key retail accounts, broker partners, and strategic channel opportunities while driving distribution growth across natural, specialty, grocery, club, and emerging retail channels. The ideal candidate is a proven retail sales leader with a strong track record of securing new distribution, growing existing accounts, and building strategic partnerships with major retailers. This person will serve as Rho Nutrition’s primary commercial leader for retail sales, overseeing retailer relationships, broker management, trade planning, and channel expansion initiatives. A critical component of this role is bringing established relationships with category managers, merchants, and buyers across key retail channels. The Director of Retail Sales will leverage those relationships to identify opportunities, accelerate new account acquisition, and strengthen Rho Nutrition’s position within existing retail partners. This role is expected to be highly proactive, commercially minded, and deeply involved in retailer and broker relationships while maintaining full ownership of retail sales performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Own relationships with all major retail accounts across natural, specialty, grocery, club, and online wholesale channels
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retailer buyers, category managers, merchants, and key

decision-makers

  • Drive distribution growth through expansion of existing accounts and acquisition of new retail

partners

  • Identify and secure new channel opportunities, including conventional grocery, mass retail, club,

beauty, specialty wellness, and emerging retail channels

  • Develop and execute retail sales strategies that support the company’s long-term growth

objectives

  • Negotiate retailer agreements, annual terms, promotional commitments, and commercial

partnerships, bringing final agreements to executive leadership for approval

  • Lead quarterly business reviews with key retail partners and broker organizations
  • Manage broker relationships, including accountability for performance, reporting, retailer

engagement, and strategic planning

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop annual trade spend plans and promotional strategies
  • Analyze sales performance, retailer scorecards, promotional effectiveness, and market trends to

identify growth opportunities

  • Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, marketing, and e-commerce teams to support

successful product launches and retail initiatives

  • Develop and maintain accurate retail sales forecasts and account growth plans
  • Partner with the Field Sales Manager to establish and execute small-format retail channel

strategies

  • Represent Rho Nutrition at retailer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and key customer

engagements broker interactions to completion

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and relationship management across all retailer and
  • Take ownership of retail sales performance, identifying opportunities and driving initiatives through

Required Qualifications \& Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in retail sales, business development, or account management within

CPG, supplements, wellness, health, beauty, or natural products

  • Proven experience managing national retail accounts and driving measurable distribution growth
  • Established relationships with category managers, merchants, and buyers across natural,

specialty, grocery, club, and mass retail channels

  • Demonstrated success securing new retail distribution and expanding existing retail partnerships
  • Strong experience negotiating retailer agreements, annual business plans, promotional programs,

and trade investments

  • Experience managing brokers, distributor relationships, and external sales partners
  • Deep understanding of retail economics, trade spend management, forecasting, and account

profitability

  • Experience working with major retail partners and navigating complex retail organizations
  • Existing relationships with buyers and category managers national retailers required
  • Experience working in supplements, wellness, natural products, or health-focused CPG required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate sales data into actionable growth strategies
  • Highly organized and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with the ability to drive initiatives to completion
