Why RocketDevs?
We empower software engineers by bridging talent with global tech opportunities. We connect skilled developers with innovative projects, fostering an inclusive tech community.
We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to client projects that power scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure for global products. This is a remote position focused on building and maintaining cloud-native systems, deployment pipelines, and production environments for our international clients.
About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer in the RocketDevs network, you'll be matched to client projects where you'll own the deployment, automation, monitoring, and reliability of real-world production systems.
Client projects range from scaling Kubernetes infrastructure serving millions of requests per day, to building secure CI/CD pipelines for fast-growing SaaS products, to improving observability and cloud cost optimisation for distributed systems operating at global scale.
Must Have
High technical skills in:
- Strong Linux and command-line proficiency
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies (Docker)
- Strong experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI
- Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack, or equivalent)
- Solid networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, SSL/TLS, and reverse proxies
- Strong Git/GitHub discipline and collaborative development workflows
- Experience automating infrastructure and operational tasks using Bash, Python, or Go
- Understanding of system reliability, scalability, backup, and disaster recovery principles
- Familiarity with security best practices for cloud and infrastructure environments
A deployed project is required:
You must be able to share at least one production infrastructure architecture diagram (cloud architecture, CI/CD pipeline, Kubernetes cluster, monitoring stack, or equivalent) that:
- Was used by real users or production workloads
- Can be explained clearly: what problem it solved and the scale it handled
Nice to Have
- Kubernetes ecosystem tooling (Helm, ArgoCD, Istio, Linkerd)
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and incident response experience
- Secrets management tools (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Doppler, etc.)
- Experience with serverless infrastructure and event-driven architectures
- Cloud security and compliance exposure
- Performance tuning and infrastructure cost optimisation
- Experience managing databases and caching systems in production
- Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architecture
- Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or MLOps workflows
