Job Description
The Opportunity
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to play a key role in a major Windows Server modernisation programme, supporting the migration of business-critical applications and services from Windows Server 2012 to modern platforms. Alongside this, you'll help support and enhance Azure cloud services, DevOps tooling and core business applications, contributing to the delivery of a secure, stable and future-ready technology estate. The role in an Inside IR35 basis paying £550 per day to the Umbrella Company. Location - Canary Wharf, 2 days per week.
The Role
- Support the delivery of a large-scale Windows Server upgrade programme, including application and service migrations, testing, validation and cutover activities.
- Work closely with Infrastructure teams, Application Support teams, Managed Service Providers and third-party suppliers to ensure successful migration outcomes.
- Support Azure cloud platforms and associated services, helping maintain reliable and secure environments.
- Contribute to Azure DevOps activities including CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, release management and environment support.
- Provide operational support across production and non-production environments, assisting with troubleshooting, incident resolution and service improvements.
- Support Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps and Power Pages, while contributing to wider platform enhancement initiatives.
The Person
- Proven experience supporting Windows Server environments and delivering application or service migrations across Windows Server platforms.
- Strong understanding of migration planning, dependency management, testing, validation and business cutover activities.
- Hands-on experience with core Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and IIS.
- Experience supporting Azure cloud environments and Azure DevOps services.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to support business-critical applications and infrastructure.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, managed service providers and third-party suppliers.
- Experience producing technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint Online or hybrid cloud environments would be advantageous.
- Experience working within regulated or complex enterprise environments is desirable.
