DevOps Engineer

**Role: Software platform Engineer** **Type: Contract** **Job Description:** * Operate and continuously improve shared platform capabilities, including CI/CD, GitOps workflows, artifact repositories, secrets management, and software supply chain security. * Streamline and automate developer workflows to reduce friction and improve delivery speed, reliability, and quality. * Implement secure\-by\-default practices such as policy\-as\-code, role\-based access control (RBAC), multi\-tenant environments, and robust secrets handling. * Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, enhance observability, and support incident response and continuous improvement efforts. * Build and maintain reusable modules, templates, and “golden paths” to enable teams to follow best practices with ease. * Collaborate on defining engineering metrics, fostering a metrics\-driven culture, and ensuring data systems are secure, reliable, and compliant. * Partner with product and engineering teams to measure and improve key performance indicators (e.g., lead time, failure rates, MTTR), and translate insights into actionable improvements. **Experience \& Skills** * Experience in software engineering and/or platform engineering, including working with production systems. * Hands\-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (experience with multiple providers is a plus). * Strong experience with containers and Kubernetes. * Familiarity with serverless/container\-based platforms. * Practical experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform). * Experience with CI/CD and GitOps practices using modern tooling. * Experience with secrets management solutions. * Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, TypeScript, or JavaScript). * Experience with observability and reliability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, and incident response. * Solid understanding of engineering productivity and developer experience frameworks, including: * Applying metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, and reliability indicators. * Collecting and using developer feedback and telemetry to drive improvements. * Building dashboards and using insights to influence real engineering changes. * Familiarity with secure software delivery practices, including dependency management and artifact handling.
